The Society for the Advancement of Transplant Anesthesia (SATA) will host a national conference for transplant anesthesiologists and critical care physicians. The didactic sessions will consist of panels, pro/con debates and problem-based case discussions. The main themes will be Anesthetic Management of the Organ Donor (Cadaveric and Living) and Anesthetic Priorities for the Safe Management of Kidney and Thoracic Organ Transplant Recipients. National and international experts in transplant anesthesia will deliver lectures, interactive case presentations and discussions with an emphasis on controversial topics in transplant anesthesiology and critical care medicine.

The Society for the Advancement of Transplant Anesthesia (SATA) is an independent clinician-based association founded to serve the educational and professional needs of anesthesiologists, critical care specialists, residents and fellows, and other anesthesia practitioners involved in the field of organ transplantation. SATA’s mission is to improve the perioperative care of the organ donor and transplant recipient. SATA’s goal is greater utilization of donor tissues and organs with better outcomes for more recipients. In order to accomplish this goal, members of SATA are working towards establishing evidence-based guidelines and standards for clinical practice management, expansion of educational and training programs, as well as facilitating and conducting innovative research.
