Where will the IARS 2019 Annual Meeting and International Science Symposium be held?

All IARS 2019 Annual Meeting activities will take place at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the Headquarters Hotel.

How do I obtain a VISA/invitation letter?

If you are traveling to the IARS 2018 Annual Meeting and International Science Symposium from outside the United States, your country may require you to obtain a visa. Click here to request a letter of invitation to the meeting and to view the International Resources page.

How do I submit an abstract?

The General Abstract Submission Site for the SOCCA, IARS and AUA 2019 Annual Meetings will open in October 2018. Check back from more information as it becomes available.

How do I register for the meeting and what are the registration fees?

Registration will open in December 2018 for the IARS, AUA and SOCCA 2019 Annual Meetings. Registration fees will be made available at that time.

What is included with my registration?

Registered attendees at the Annual Meeting will have access to all sessions including Panels, Symposia, Review Course Lectures, Moderated Poster Discussion Sessions, Exhibits, the International Science Symposium, the T.H. Seldon Memorial Lecture, and access to the official IARS Annual Meeting mobile app. Workshops and Problem-Based Discussion Sessions require a ticket and pre-registration. Workshops include an additional fee to attend. All attendees are invited to attend the Alignment Reception, a toast to the alignment of the three must-attend anesthesia society Annual Meetings all in one location.

May I bring a guest to the Annual Meeting?

Guests are invited to attend the Annual Meeting registration and may register at the appropriate non-member registration rate.

Will there be an app for the Annual Meeting?

Yes, the IARS 2019 Annual Meeting and International Science Symposium will feature an interactive mobile app that will allow you to view a complete event schedule, explore all educational sessions and activities, and access detailed presenter information. Attendees will also be able to connect with their peers and colleagues though the app and expand their professional network during the Annual Meeting. The app will be available in the Apple and Google Play stores and will be included with registration.

Will there be any dedicated programs for attendees in-training?

The Scholars’ Program at the Annual Meeting is designed for all early-career anesthesiology faculty, fellows, residents and medical students interested in academic anesthesiology in order to support the development of young academic anesthesiologists, increase diversity in the upper levels of anesthesiology and advance the science that informs clinical practice. A day dedicated to exciting talks, interactive sessions and social events directly focusing on the needs of early-career anesthesiologist / scientists, the Scholars’ Program takes place on the Aligned Meeting Day of the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS), Association of University Anesthesiologists (AUA), and the Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists (SOCCA) taking place on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18.

Will the Annual Meeting sessions be recorded and be made available post meeting?

Recorded sessions of the Annual Meeting educational activities will be made available through IARS On Demand and will cover approximately 80 hours of presentations from Review Course Lectures, Panels, and Symposia. If you are unable to attend the Annual Meeting or would like to re-watch a session after the Annual Meeting, the On Demand program allows you access to Annual Meeting sessions, with lecture slides synchronized to live audio to give you a live-session experience. Additionally, approximately 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ may be claimed for continuing medical education through IARS Annual Meeting On Demand.

Will there be any refreshments during the Annual Meeting?

Light refreshments will be available in the mornings and afternoons in the exhibit space during the Annual Meeting as well as at the Alignment Reception.

What is the weather like in Montreal?

From March to May, average highs range from the upper 30s to the mid-60s in Montreal; although it's still a bit chilly, walking around shouldn't be too much of an issue.

What is the dress code for the Annual Meeting?

The dress code for the Annual Meeting is business casual.

How do I request space for an Ancillary Meeting during the IARS Annual Meeting?

Organizations wishing to hold group functions in conjunction with the IARS 2019 Annual Meeting and International Science Symposium, May 18-24, 2019, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, must first obtain meeting space from the IARS. Space is assigned after all official IARS education, Board of Trustee, and special event functions have been placed. Space is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis in the order applications were received.

How do I claim CME from the IARS Annual Meeting?

The CME survey for the IARS, AUA and SOCCA 2018 Annual Meetings is now open. Instructions to claim CME were sent via email to all registered attendees.

To claim credit, visit the website at https://ww3.aievolution.com/ars1801/index.cfm?do=cnt.page&pg=2002 and follow the instructions. Upon completion of the online CME survey and attesting to your level of participation in the educational activity you will receive a certificate for your records.

Registered meeting attendees may claim CME credit for the IARS, AUA and SOCCA Annual Meetings by completing the online CME survey within 90 days from Wednesday, May 2.

Physicians wishing to have credits from this educational activity reported to the ABA for the ABA MOCA® Program may do so by entering their eight digit ABA identification number when claiming CME credit.

How do I print a CME certificate?

Upon completion of the online CME survey and attesting to your level of participation in the educational activity, you will be able to print a certificate for your records from the CME site. The CME survey from the IARS 2017 Annual Meeting is now closed. However, attendees of the meeting who have already claimed CME may return to the site at any time to print their CME certificate at https://ww3.aievolution.com/ars1801/index.cfm?do=cnt.page&pg=2002.
