IARS Clinical Scholar Research Awards - $320,000

Background

The Clinical Scholar Research Awards (CSRA) are intended to support clinical investigations that will further the understanding of clinical practice in anesthesiology and related sciences. Up to four research projects involving human subjects, in vivo or in vitro, are selected annually to receive a maximum of $80,000 each.

Since its origination in 1994, the CSRA has funded over 60 clinical research projects from around the world. Prior recipients include investigators from the United States, Canada, Switzerland, Israel, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Applying for the CSRA

Principal applicants of the CSRA must be members of the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) and investigators who have yet to establish substantial funding. Projects must have direct relevance to the anesthesiology specialty, and demonstrate high scientific merit and probability of success. All CSRA applications are peer reviewed by the IARS Research Committee, and awards are granted at the sole discretion of the IARS.

For more information, see the CSRA Rules and Guidelines.
